A couple months ago I flew down to LA and shot a video with Buzzfeed Ladylike on anxiety and Reishi.
Reishi is an adaptogenic mushroom traditionally used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is known as the queen of plants and has been used to help support the immune and nervous system, support the adrenals and has extremely high anti-cancer properties.
I have used Reishi for years to aid in my anxiety journey and through that recommend it for my clients. It is safe* and builds in your system overtime. The company used in the video is Four Sigmatic (use code bodyblisslife for a discount).
When purchasing reishi, I recommend making sure it is coming from a clean source. These mushrooms can be a bit of an investment up front, but you take a little bit each day so they last a long time. Some companies grow their mushrooms on grain and therefore you end up with more ground up oats or rice then you do mushroom. My favorite companies that are both ethical in their sourcing and conscious in their growth are:
Reishi Latte Recipe
1 cup coffee, matcha or tea
1/2 cup nut milk
1 packet Four Sigmatic or 1/2 tsp reishi
1tsp-1T ghee or coconut oil
1 pitted date
1/8 tsp ground cardamom
In a high speed blender, combine all ingredients and blend on high for 30 seconds or until frothy. Pour into a beautiful mug and sip with intention.
